Upon an initial examination Dr Albert will decide whether Invisalign is right for you.

Invisalign Teen will only be offered to suitable candidates, all other Invisalign products are readily available

Dr Albert will write a treatment plan and take impressions and photos of your teeth. He will make some calculations and then submitted all his data and pictures to Invisalign. Using the latest in 3D computer imaging you will be able to preview your final appearance immediately. Then, using the latest advances in 3D computer technology Invisalign carefully translates your doctor’s instructions into a series of precisely customized aligners. You then wear each set of aligners for about two weeks, moving your teeth gradually week by week, millimeter by millimeter until you’ve achieved the intended result: straighter teeth.

Generally you visit your doctor no more often than you would with braces and the length of treatment is about the same.

Frequently asked questions:

Q: Will wearing the aligners change my speech?

A: Like all orthodontic treatments, aligners may temporarily affect the speech of some people, and you may have a slight lisp for a day or two. However, as your tongue gets used to having the aligners in your mouth, any lisp caused by the aligners should disappear.

Q: Does Invisalign hurt?

A: The Invisalign aligners are smoother and undetectable in the mouth but you may experience minor aches and pains within the first few days of changing aligners. This is due to your teeth adjusting to their new positions and a good sign the treatment is working.

Q: Can I smoke with the aligners in?

A: We also recommend taking your aligners out if you smoke as it will stain them but remember they must be in your mouth at least 22 hours a day so taking them in and out a lot adds up!

Q: Do Doctors need special training in order to use Invisalign?

A: Yes, specific training is needed. All orthodontists an dentists interested in treating patients with Invisalign must attend training before cases will be accepted from their office.

Q: How much does Invisalign cost?

A: As with traditional braces, the cost will be based on the complexity of your case and the length of treatment. Invisalign costs only slightly more than braces. If your health insurance plan covers traditional braces, it will typically cover Invisalign to the same extent

Q: How do I get started?

A: Aligners are made of clear, strong, medical grade plastic that is virtually invisible when worn.

Q: How long does Invisalign take?

A: The duration of treatment depends on the severity of your case, which determines the number of aligners you need. However, the average is about 12 months, but only your dentist can determine the length of your treatment

Q: How often will I have to wear my aligners?

A: Invisalign only works while you’re wearing the aligners: It’s recommended that you wear your aligners full-time, day and night except to eat, brush and floss your teeth – or as directed by Dr Albert.
